The Children’s Program Division offers services to over 5,000 school age students in San Diego. Our caring staff is trained to foster a creative and educational environment through academic and enrichment activities, while promoting healthy choices and good nutrition that support overall well-being in a safe environment. Extended School Day Programs (PrimeTime / “6 to 6”): Harmonium operates over 50 PrimeTime and “6 to 6” extended school day programs for children in K-8th grade throughout San Diego Unified School District and San Ysidro School District. More than 4,500 elementary and middle school children participate in this free program daily. PrimeTime / “6 to 6” offers:
PrimeTime and “6 to 6” extended school day programs are a safe place for children to experience academic enrichment and recreation activities during the hours that their parents work. The program is a state funded (ASES) reimbursement program providing before and after school care to children and youth in San Diego and San Ysidro Unified School Districts whose parents meet the pre-enrollment qualifications. Centers are conveniently located at Ericson, Gage, Hage, Hickman, Jerabek, Loma Portal, Mason, Sandburg, Walker, and Zamorano elementary schools. Children can walk to the centers without leaving school grounds. Presently, our 2 Employee Children’s Centers are located at Baker and Balboa Elementary schools in Southeast San Diego. This innovative child care program was developed to attract and retain teachers by providing child care closer to their place of employment which improves staff retention – thus improving school performance. Harmonium provides a state of the art center to create a positive, stimulating learning environment for children to play, learn and grow according to developmental standards.
